We spoke with them about their journey from large-scale infrastructure projects to becoming a local leader in structural design and forensic assessments right here in Barrie.
1. Who are you and what does your company do?
PGIC Engineering Corp. is a licensed structural engineering firm providing design, site reviews, investigation, and forensic engineering services across Ontario. We support realtors and investors, architects, contractors, insurers, and law firms with structural design/assessment for new houses, plazas, multi storey buildings, additions, decks, and restoration work, as well as expert assessments of structural failures, foundation movement, and building envelope issues.
What sets us apart is our ability to combine advanced structural engineering with forensic investigations, giving clients clear, unbiased solutions whether for construction projects, insurance claims, or legal disputes.
In addition, PGIC offers CAD drafting, 3D modeling/rendering, and graphic design services (Modelling objects, spaces, logos, business cards etc.).
2. What’s the story behind your company?
PGIC Engineering was founded after more than 15 years of working on major infrastructure, building, and forensic projects throughout Ontario and North America. After serving on complex projects and supporting insurance and legal professionals in high-volume claims, we launched PGIC to bring that expertise directly to clients who need clear, reliable engineering guidance and structural assessments.
The first step was simple but meaningful, opening a practice built on FAST responses, technical excellence, honesty, and helping clients resolve challenging structural and construction issues with confidence and transparent fees.
3. What has been your biggest success moment so far?
A major milestone has been earning the trust of some of the key insurance companies, architects and law firms in North America. Being relied upon for property-loss assessments, structural failures, and litigation support has reinforced our reputation for accuracy, impartiality, and technical depth.
Another proud moment has been building a growing client base in Barrie and the GTA supporting homeowners, architects, and contractors with fast, practical engineering solutions that keep their projects moving.
